Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Accountant with 1-3 years of experience to join our finance team. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for preparing financial statements, performing financial reporting, and utilizing accounting software effectively. Day-to-day tasks include ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial records, conducting detailed financial analysis, and supporting strategic financial decisions through robust analytical skills.

Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements), perform comprehensive financial reporting, analyze expenses, and provide detailed insights for internal and external stakeholders.
• Client Accounting & Reconciliation Management: Manage comprehensive accounting records, including general ledger, accounts receivable/payable, and bank reconciliations for Freezoner's diverse portfolio of external clients, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and proper recording of all transactions.
• Month-End Close & Compliance: Lead and assist in the efficient month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing necessary journal entries, accruals, and prepayments, while ensuring full compliance with UAE VAT regulations and other accounting standards.
• Record Keeping & Process Improvement: Maintain organized and comprehensive financial records and documentation, and actively identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and overall efficiency within the department.
• Support & Ad-hoc Projects: Provide support for various accounting and finance-related tasks and contribute to special projects as required, demonstrating adaptability and a willingness to assist team objectives.

Requirements:

Must-Have:

• Educational & Professional Foundation: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, along with a relevant professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA or ACCA).
• Relevant Accounting Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of proven experience in an accounting role within the UAE, with demonstrated experience in preparing financial statements and performing financial reporting.
• Core Accounting Expertise: Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and basic IFRS, coupled with practical experience in general ledger functions, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and bank reconciliations.
• UAE Regulatory & Tax Knowledge: Familiarity with UAE VAT regulations and their practical application.
• Analytical & Problem-Solving Acumen: Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data, identify discrepancies, resolve issues, and provide insights to support strategic decisions.
• Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency with various accounting software and intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (including functions like VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
• Communication & Organizational Skills: Effective written and verbal communication in English, excellent attention to detail, strong organizational abilities to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
